Privacy Policy

ShuttleUp ("we", "our", "us") is a racket-sports match tracking and rating platform available at shuttleup.in and through our mobile applications. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using ShuttleUp you agree to this policy.

1. Information we collect

Account information. When you sign up we collect your mobile phone number (verified via one-time password), your name, city, and optional profile details such as date of birth, gender, playing hand, preferred format and a profile photo.

Match and gameplay data. Scores, point-by-point events, optional shot tags, match participants, results, ratings, rankings, milestones and tournament entries that you or other participants record on the platform.

Technical data. Basic device and log information (such as IP address, browser/app version and timestamps) generated when you use the service, used for security and to keep the service running reliably.

We do not collect your precise GPS location. Your city is only what you enter on your profile.

2. How we use your information

To create and operate your account and player profile
To record matches, calculate ratings and categories, and display rankings and leaderboards
To let other players find you and verify match results (see "What other users can see")
To send one-time passwords (OTP) and essential service messages
To maintain security, prevent fraud and abuse (e.g. fake match results), and comply with law
To improve the product and fix problems

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

3. What other users can see

ShuttleUp is a sports community. Your name, city, profile photo, category badge, ratings, match results and statistics are visible to other signed-in users — similar to any sports ranking platform. Your phone number is never shown to other users.

4. Service providers we rely on

We use trusted third-party services to run ShuttleUp. Your data is processed by them only to provide the service:

Supabase — database, authentication and storage (hosted in the Asia-Pacific (Mumbai) region)
Google Firebase — website and app hosting
Twilio — delivery of SMS one-time passwords

5. Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. Match records are part of the shared history of the players involved (like a scorebook), so individual results may remain visible in aggregate/opponent histories even after you delete your account, but they will no longer be linked to an active profile.

6. Your rights and choices

Access & correction: you can view and edit your profile information in the app at any time.
Deletion: you can request deletion of your account and personal data by emailing us at contacts@shuttleup.in. We will action requests within 30 days.
Grievances: for any privacy concern, contact our grievance contact at contacts@shuttleup.in. We aim to respond within 7 days.

These rights are provided in line with applicable Indian law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

7. Children

ShuttleUp is intended for users aged 13 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Security

Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). Access to production data is restricted, and authentication is handled by industry-standard providers. No system is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures appropriate to the data we handle.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be announced in the app or by email, and the "Last updated" date above will always reflect the current version.
